Dr. Kass holds a Doctorate degree and is Licensed in New York to treat adolescents, adults, couples and families. He is an expert in the field of hypnosis, combining techniques to treat anxiety problems, addictions, depression and to propel people forward in terms of confidence and motivation so that they can excel in their personal and professional lives.
Dr. Kass utilizes hypnotic techniques to address troubling symptoms associated with anxiety and depression, and the behaviors associated with these struggles such as habits and addictions. In reaching a relaxed and reflective state, his patients are able to decrease the intensity of their anxious feelings while gaining insight into the root causes of their behavior. His patients challenge their irrational beliefs and catastrophic thinking patterns so often associated with anxiety by tapping into their inner resources and creative problem skills. Through the use of guided imagery and indirect suggestion, Dr. Kass' patients are able to accept and cope with their fears.

Dr. Kass’s comprehensive interest in human behavior began at Emerson College, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in fine arts. He continued his education receiving dual degrees from New York University; a Master’s of Arts in Education and a Master of Social Work degrees.
Dr. Kass completed his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy and Practice, where he received the prestigious Dr. Ram Cnaan award for meritorious achievement. He has served as the clinical director of both the Realization Center, New York City’s largest addiction outpatient treatment center, and the Dunes East Hampton, a private inpatient treatment center on Long Island, New York.
Dr. Kass has been a professor at both the University of Pennsylvania and Touro College in their Master of Social Work programs. He was a biweekly guest on a nationally syndicated news show (The Dylan Ratigan Show on MSNBC), as well as a weekly columnist for TheStreet.com and The Huffington Post.
Devoted to continued studies, Dr. Kass has additional training through the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies and the Albert Ellis Institute in CBT and Rational-Emotive Therapy. He has completed NYU’s Clinical Approaches to Addiction Treatment Certificate program and received extensive training in hypnosis under Dr. Rachel Hott and Steven Leeds, who are experts in the field of hypnosis. Dr. Kass continues to participate in ongoing trainings in hypnosis in order to be up-to-date with new research in the field, and is considered in the top of the field in using hypnosis for addictions and anxiety.
