Rates

We charge $275 for our standard 45-minute psychotherapy sessions. Sessions must be paid in full at the time of service, regardless of whether or not you are reimbursed by your insurance company.

Billing

NY Health Hypnosis & Integrative Therapy is a division of Soho Integrative Psychological Services, PLLC. Thus, our services are billed under our company, Soho Integrative Psychological Services. Our services are psychotherapy, and not hypnosis services, as we are licensed psychologists providing psychological services using a variety of therapeutic techniques.

OUT-OF-NETWORK INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT

Soho Integrative Psychological Services is not in-network with any insurance company. Most of our clients, however, can be reimbursed for our services in the range of 50%-100% after meeting their deductible if their policy reimburses for out-of-network psychotherapy.

As a general rule, most insurance plans that are a PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) will reimburse for our services, whereas Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, and government plans will not reimburse you. This is because PPOs generally have a policy for reimbursement for providers outside of their network, whereas HMOs and government plans typically only allow you to see providers in their specific insurance network.

PROCESS FOR REIMBURSEMENT

We make every attempt to simplify the reimbursement process by partnering with Reimbursify, a third-party HIPAA-compliant software platform that simplifies the submission process and allows you to track the status of your reimbursement.

How it works
Once you become a patient, you will be charged for each session in full at the time of service. At the end of each month, you will receive a receipt of payment that can be submitted to your insurance company, known as a “Statement for Reimbursement”. This statement will contain all pertinent information, such as your CPT and diagnostic codes.

Once you receive these statements, you will have two ways to submit this statement for potential reimbursement from your insurance company.

Submit the statement to your insurance company yourself, using your insurance company’s standard process.

2.

Request and authorize us to submit your statements to your insurance company via Reimbursify on your behalf. If you choose this option, we will continue to submit your statements monthly, unless you revoke your authorization.

Please note that we offer this service as a courtesy and cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you. While we will submit the statements on your behalf, we have no control over the outcome of whether or not they reimburse you. Regardless of reimbursement, you are solely responsible for payment at the time of the session.

Lateness policy

Please arrive or log on 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to ensure that you start on time. Your scheduled session is reserved specifically for you, and the next client session often begins immediately after your session ends. You will be charged the full session fee regardless of whether or not you arrive on time.

Cancellation Policy

We respectfully ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice if you must cancel an appointment. The full session charge will be applied for any no show appointments or cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the start of the appointment.

FAQ ABOUT RATES AND INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT

1. What is out-of-network reimbursement?

Out-of-network refers to providers that are not contracted with your plan. Although they are not in your plan, PPO plans generally will reimburse you for the sessions after you have paid for your session in full.

2. Do all plans cover out-of-network psychotherapy?

No. Most PPOs offer out-of-network insurance reimbursement, whereas HMOs and most government plans, such as Medicaid and Medicare, do not reimburse.

3. How are your services billed?

Our sessions are psychotherapy, and not strictly hypnotherapy, since we are licensed psychologists who utilize hypnosis as a way to enhance our therapy sessions and utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches. This is an important distinction, as most health insurance policies reimburse for individual psychotherapy sessions with licensed providers, such as us, but will not reimburse for unlicensed professionals strictly providing hypnosis services.

4. What is your CPT code?

Our standard sessions use the CPT code 90834, which is the standard code for 45 minute individual psychotherapy appointments. Please note that some insurances, such as Aetna, also require a modifier code 95, which will be added to your statements. Please notify us if you need the modifier added.

5. Do you offer a sliding scale?

We do not offer a sliding scale, but proudly support organizations that offer sliding scales and are happy to help you navigate that process. Please refer to our "Affiliated Providers" page for our recommendations.

6. What forms of payment do you accept?

As payment is done through our portal, we only accept credit cards or HSA credit cards. We do, however, accept all forms of credit cards.

7. Why was my insurance reimbursement claim denied?

There are many reasons that your company may deny your claim, such as a typo when submitting, submitting the wrong code, or that you have not yet reached your deductible. It could also be that they do not cover therapists outside of your network. Please be sure to verify that you have out-of-network coverage before starting therapy.

8. What do I do if my insurance does not reimburse me after submitting?

If your insurance does not reimburse you after you have submitted your statement, contact them to ask for clarification or inquire if they need more information. Please note that most denials are based on their policy and we are not able to assist in those matters.
